Blueair is the system for people living with an allergy, asthma, or other respiratory conditions, or for anyone who wants cleaner, more breathable air. The Blueair 501 air purifier effectively purifies air in rooms as large as 580 square feet. Using patented two-stage HEPASilent™ technology, it captures 99.97% of the tiniest 0.1 micron particles on level one, including allergy-provoking pollen grains, dust mites, mold spores and pet dander particles.
Our efficient SurroundAir™ vent system delivers exceptional air exchange (up to 500 cubic feet per minute) without annoying drafts, performance that earned the 501 Best of Class ranking in independent AHAM testing of Clean Air Delivery Rate.
Easy maintenance: simply open the unit's lid, lift out and drop in filters every 6 months. Choose the optional SmokeStop Filter Kit for better protection from smoke and other airborne gases.

The Blueair 501 is available with two filter configurations:
HEPASilent™ Filter (particle and gas filter)
All Blueair systems incorporate patented HEPASilent™ technology. It combines mechanical and electrostatic filtration, so it can capture 99,97% of the tiniest 0.1 micron particles and gases.
To maximize HEPA filter effectiveness, particles are bombarded with negative electrostatic charge as they are drawn toward the filter. All this without ozone or hazardous irritants. It combines the improved electrostatically charged polypropylene fiber HEPA particle filter with an active carbon filter. No sick room or hospital room should be without this. No home of an allergic, asthmatic, emphysema person should be without Blueair HEPASilent improved technology for removing allergens from the air. For all breathing problems, emphysema or RADS.
Toxic gases from printers and copy machines, office odors from colognes and perfumes, formaldehyde from cabinets and new toxic carpet odors are all hazardous chemicals you are best avoiding to breath. Moving in to a newly built or renovated house or office can also be a health hazard. Consider the indoor air quality as a health hazard and invest in your health.
Blueair has the highest ratings in AHAM Testing amongst the 125 air cleaners tested by AHAM in January, 2000. The performance of Blueair air purifiers has been tested at the ETL-laboratory in Cortland, New York, and at the Royal Technical University in Stockholm.
HEPASilent™ with SmokeStop Filter
The optional SmokeStop filter combines the particle filter with an enhanced active carbon filter that has a higher carbon weight that enables it to absorb significantly more gases, and odors than the regular Blueair particle filter. It is best suited for use in areas that contain cigarette and cigar smoke or where you want to remove fireside odors. Even a neighbor's smoking can aggravate your health and injure a child's fragile respiratory system, a senior citizen or a chronically ill person or the smog level is hazardous to health.
This filter adds more gas adsorption capability and is recommended for environments like workshops or workplaces where chemical fumes and gases are present. For people with chemical sensitivities, and those whose asthma and allergies are provoked by odors and fumes. Blueair units are also helpful in fighting the effects of smoke from forest fires.
What type of Blueair filter do I need?
Choose the filter type based on the kinds of pollutants (particles and gases) that may be present in your particular environment. Blueair's standard HEPASilent™ filter provides efficient filtration for environments where particles are the primary concern and gases are secondary. For any environment in which removing gaseous pollutants (including tobacco smoke) is a priority, we recommend the optional SmokeStop filter.
For people with chemical sensitives, and those whose asthma or allergies are provoked by strong odors and fumes, the SmokeStop filter provides an even higher level of protection.
Our standard filters are suitable not only for average homes with family members in good overall health, but also for families who need an extra level of protection for the elderly, small children or those with respiratory or cardiovascular illnesses.
